League Rules

I. General Rules

  1.  There will be 10 teams.
  2.  The regular season will last from Week 1 until Week 14 of the 2000 NFL season
  3.  At the end of Week 14 the four teams with the best records will make the playoffs. The first round of the playoffs will be in NFL week 15, and the top-seeded will play the fourth-seeded team, while the second-seeded team will play the third-seeded team. The winners will play each other and the losers will play each other in NFL Week 16.
  4.  The season will end after NFL Week 16. NFL Week 17 has no bearing on any results.
  5.  In case of a tie in entering the playoffs or for the best non-playoff record, the criterion for breaking the tie will be: (a) Overall winning percentage; (b) Head-to-head record; (c) Fantasy points scored; (d) Head-to-head Fantasy points scored; (e) Fantasy points scored in Week 17, etc.; (f) coin toss.
  6.  Final interpretation of all rules in case of dispute is left to Josh Freeman.
  7.  All scoring will be based on scores posted on Yahoo. No other scores or stats will be considered official.

II. Fees

  1.  The entry fee for the season will be $20. This will entitle you to enter the draft and submit a game roster for every week of the season.
  2.  Releasing a player is free.
  3.  Signing a free agent will cost $1.
  4.  Trades will be free and will follow the same notification process as free agent signings.
  5.  The top four places will receive prize money.

III. Rosters & Draft

  1.  Game rosters must be submitted to the website by midnight (PST) Saturday or by the cutoff time set by Yahoo, whichever comes first. A Week 1 roster must be submitted or else the first week's game is forfeited. The preference of the league is to have all rosters in to allow sufficient time for opponents to view rosters. If a player has a Thursday or Saturday game, that player must be set on the starting roster before the start of their first game.
  2.  Rosters should be submitted via Yahoo. If this is not possible please call or e-mail your roster to Josh Freeman before rosters are due.
  3.  Each game roster must have:
  4.  A team may have up to fifteen (15) players on their total roster but may only start ten (10). There is no requirement that a team have more than ten (10) players.
  5.  There will be a 15 round draft to be held on 8/27/00. Transaction fees apply as of 8/30/00.
  6.  The last week which trades can be made will be NFL Week 12. No trades may occur after the twelfth game in the fantasy season has been played.

IV. Games & Scoring

  1.  Each week games will be conducted on a head-to-head basis, the goal being to accumulate more points than your opponent for that week. Only players on the game roster will be used to accumulate points.
  2.  All point totals will be calculated by Yahoo. Only those scores will be considered official.
  3.  In the regular season, there can be wins, loses and ties.
  4.  Standings will be calculated in a manner consistent with NFL standings.
  5.  Scoring will accumulate in the following fashion:

    Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Wide Receivers, & Tight Ends

    Defensive Unit

    Kicker

V. Teams, Divisions, & Schedule

  1.  The following teams and owners are in the league:

  3.  The schedule is posted online.

VI. Modification Clause

1) Because the league is being run on Yahoo for the first time, the commissioner reserves the right to alter or modify the rules, in the best interest of the league, over the course of the season, in order to promote the smooth flowing of the league.

VII. Protection

  1.  There will be no protection policy for this year.
