Fresh off of what was considered by many to be a strong 2004-2005 season - at least in terms of the development of new dramas - 2005-2006 opened with lots of high expectations, albeit no sure-fire hits. With programs like Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, and Lost heading into their sophomore campaigns and beginning to dominate the ratings landscape, pundits were eager to see which shows would hold up, which news shows would begin to build an audience, and what new cultural phenomena would begin to sweep the television landscape.
