Best of 2004: The Year in Film

In what has become an annual tradition at this web site, a few select critics gather together each year to nominate their picks for the best films of the year. Sometimes, these picks line up quite nicely with those put forth at the Academy Awards, and, other times, they go off in rather unusual directions. Decide for yourself where this year’s picks fall.

As was the case in 2002 & 2003, Potpourri has asked six of the most frequent Proudest Monkeys contributors to compile their "Best of 2004" lists. Here's what we've got:

These lists were finalized right before this year's Oscar celebration. Favorites of ours will likely be honored throughout the evening, while others will have to rejoice in the fact that they even made one of these hallowed lists.
