Best of 2003: The Year in Film

Either we’re all becoming harsher critics as the years go by, or films really have not been up to par in recent years. Whatever the case, 2003 did manage to produce a few worthwhile films, but which ones really measure up?

As was the case in 2002, Potpourri, the eclectic storehouse of the Proudest Monkeys, has gathered some of its most frequent contributors together and asked them to compile their "Best of 2003" lists. Here's what we've got:

These lists were finalized right before this year's Oscar celebration. Favorites of ours will likely be honored throughout the evening, including Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, the ceremony's big nominee.
