On April 3 in Indianapolis, two teams - Michigan State and Florida - vied for the right to be called the 2000 NCAA Men's Basketball Champion. At the same time, miles away from those hallowed halls, contestants vying for a far greater prize had already crowned their victor.
In 1999, I overcame eleven worthy challengers and rode the University of Connecticut to victory. This year, I placed all of my eggs in a different basket, and that basket's name was St. John's University. But, as is often the case in college basketball, the past means little. And the entrants in the Proudest Monkeys' third annual pool found out one thing: in this year's NCAA Tournament Pool, experience meant everything.
Each entrant submitted one ballot, selecting winners for all sixty-three games. Points were awarded for each correctly picked game, with point totals listed below. Points were awarded on the following scale:
We have also listed each entrant's Final Four predictions, should you care to view them.
We at the Proudest Monkeys would like to thank all of those who participated in this year's tournament, as well as all of those who have participated over the past two years. Without your support, none of this would be possible.
